Jennifer E. Davis

Jennifer E. Davis began her practice of law in 1987, with an exclusive focus upon the areas of Family Law since 1992. Her passion is alternative dispute resolution, which includes collaborative law, mediation, parent coaching and conducting day-long settlement negotiations. Because of her many years of courtroom experience as a skilled and competent litigator, she brings a high level of understanding to the needs of families to resolve their issues outside of a courtroom whenever possible.

Attorney Davis received her mediation certification in 1995 and her collaborative attorney certification in 2004. She takes annual advanced trainings in collaborative law as well as mediation as she continues to explore approaches that help people settle their differences outside of a courtroom. She has trained in child development, language acquisition in children and substance abuse treatments for adults. She continues to broaden her education in these areas.

In 2024, Attorney Davis made the decision to terminate her litigation practice, believing that mediation, parent coaching and collaboration are all more efficient, more affordable and less damaging for families to resolve their differences. Divorce doesn’t have to be a high-stakes battle, and the family’s future doesn’t need to be filled with parental conflict.

Attorney Davis is a founding member of the Central Connecticut Collaborative Family Law Group (CCCFLG), the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group (CCDG) and the Collaborative Connection of Connecticut, all of which are interdisciplinary associations of collaborative professionals dedicated to alternative dispute resolution. She is a past board member of the Children’s Law Center and a past member of the Oliver Ellsworth Inns at Court. She was an original Special Master for the Regional Family Trial Docket and has served as a Special Master in the Hartford, New Britain and Litchfield Jurisdictional Districts.
